"The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need." - Psalm 23:1
Life often presents us with moments where we feel like we don't have what we need. Maybe it's financial resources, emotional strength, or wisdom for a difficult decision. In these moments, Psalm 23 offers a powerful declaration: "The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need." Notice the present tense - "I have" - not "I will have" or "I might get." This isn't wishful thinking but a statement of faith. There's an important distinction between having something "in hand" versus "at hand." While we may not physically possess what we need at this moment, it is available through our relationship with the Shepherd.
God's provision isn't limited by our current circumstances or what we can see. His resources are unlimited, and He has promised to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. When we truly understand this, we can rest in His provision even before we see it manifested. Today, whatever need you're facing, remember that your Shepherd has already made provision. You may not have it in hand yet, but by faith, you can declare that it is at hand through Christ.
Reflection Question
What need are you currently facing that you need to trust God has already provided for, even if you don't see it yet?
Prayer
Good Shepherd, thank you for providing everything I need. Help me to trust in your provision even when I can't see it yet. Give me the faith to declare that I have what I need because you are my shepherd. In Jesus' name, Amen.
